How I Approach My Work
Since childhood, I have felt a passion for helping others and have a long history of volunteering with social service agencies. I am a Nature and animal lover, and enjoy exploring the outdoor beauty of Washington State’s Puget Sound area.
I approach my work with clients organically and holistically, meeting them where they are and with a belief that true change happens in relationship between therapist and client. We explore historical context and familial, cultural, systemic influences on challenges my clients face.
I am influenced by psychodynamic therapy theories including relational and attachment-based approaches, but also work with clients in more solution-focused ways, if they’re wanting something more concrete.
I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth or change, whether it's easily identifiable or not. Sometimes this change occurs in tiny steps and sometimes it occurs in leaps and bounds. Other times it is difficult to even recognize that growth or change is possible and we may feel stuck, down, scared, confused, or frustrated. Together we will explore what growth or change may look like for you and how it can happen.
I believe therapy works best when we meet on a regular basis, ideally weekly.
